DIY: Chip Clips

Ever have trouble finding a chip clip in your kitchen's miscelaneous drawer?  It's like they fall into a black hole here at our place.  So, I decided to make some out of clothespins I have left over from my Christmas wrapping! Super simple and a great craft idea for your kids!
You will need:
Clothes pins
Markers
Paint Pens

Now that you have your supplies gathered, start decorating!

Let dry for a bit, once dry they are ready to use!!
Happy Crafting!

French Bread, French Toast

If you are like me you are trying to keep your New Years resolution of being healthy or loose weight.  Well sometimes you need a little something sweet for breakfast.  Johnny and I are planning in having a "lighter" version of this recipe tomorrow morning. I made this right before the new year and before our resolutions started up, I must say it is pretty dang delicious :)
You will need:
1 loaf french bread
1 egg
1/4c milk
dash of vanilla
butter
syrup
optional: powdered sugar
Slice your bread into thick slices and mix the rest of your ingredients together in a bowl

Dip your bread in the mixture and place on skillet, top with butter and flip when first side looks like the picture above

Top it off with syrup and powdered sugar :)
Enjoy!
To lighten the recipe up use: wheat bread, skim milk, egg whites, light butter, sugar free syrup, & no powdered sugar

Happy Breakfast!

Pay it Forward 2012

Happy Saturday! I saw a handmade project on another blog and thought it would be fun to do it too!  The idea starting to circulate on facebook a bit as well so maybe this will spark some craftiness in you!

Here is the deal: The first 5 people to comment below with their email address will receive a handmade something from me :) I'm not sure what it will be just yet but depending on who joins in will depend on what you each get! So go ahead and leave your email! There is just one catch you must do them same for 5 other people, so you can share it in your facebook status or on your blog. The time frame is that the handmade goodies must reach their new owner by the end of 2012.  Here is where I found the original idea: My Girl Thursday.

Happy Handmade!

O my Gawwww..

So I am sitting here, yes at 4:40am, browsing all of my favorite blogs and finding some really great new ones and all that is on is infomercials..boo!  I started to scan the stations and ended up on MTV which actually had music videos on, I know pretty rare :) Any who one video caught my attention which led to a 30 min browse of YouTube.  So who caught my ear?? Karmin. They are a duet, Amy & Nick. Pretty neato sound and her style is quite delightful :) Check out this cover of a Chris Brown ft Lil Wayne song!  The video that was on that caught my ear was..Crash Your Party. You can find out more about them here!

Music to My Ears

We are putting our new record player to use for the first time today and we are loving it!  Not only does it play records, it plays cds, tapes, am/fm radio and we can plug our ipods into it.  This afternoon Johnny and I went to a local shop that sells records and found a few more for our growing collection.  It's a neat little store called Grandpa's swap shop and it is just that. I'm sure we will be visiting it many times in the future.  Snapped a few pics in the record room :)

Along with our Frank Sinatra and Johnny Cash finds I decided to take Tara's advice from her music post and bought some Nat King Cole.

Happy New Year!

Well Happy New Year my friends :)  With a new year brings new motivation and inspiration to start something new or simply improve on an already existing something.  I try not to set any type of outrageous resolution or goal, I like to keep it simple and build throughout the year on my hopes for the year in front of me.  So here are a few things I would like to do/improve in 2012:

1. Be healthy: Pretty standard stuff here and I am sure about 90% of people have this on their list but it indeed tops my list every year and 2012 is no exception. How do I plan to do this? Cook more healthy meals, try new food, run and run some more, relax, drink more water and learn to love yoga (dang my ADHD).
2. Blog Makeover: This year my blog will be 1 year old :) So it's time for a makeover! Hopefully sooner than later!
3: Sew more stuff: Since I got a dress form for Christmas I already have lots of visions of cutesy pieces of clothing I want to make for me and for others! Now that I have the space and the tools I think I'm ready to kick it up a notch! I love handmade clothing so much why not make my own?
4: Learn how to use my camera: I have a Nikon d60 and I am sorta clueless on how it works other than the auto setting so I am ready to learn!
5. Declutter: From my closet to my email and cell phone pics I need to just get rid of excess!  This may mean less thrifting for random stuff but I must declutter before I convince myself I am on the edge of becoming a hoarder!

Well that is my list of aspirations for the new year!
I will leave you with pics from my New Year celebration :) Family+games+drinks=Fun!
