Project Runway Play Day #3

My Project Runway challenge to myself this week was to make a skirt that is more "flowy".  I've made skirts in the past but they have basically been straight skirts.  I wanted it to have a very fall, warm feeling to it.  I used some vintage fabric I got at a thrift store and created a flowy skirt for a wopping $2.00!  I realized the key is to at least double the hip measurement to give the extra room.  I actually had a pattern in my hand today but laid it down because on Project Runway, no patterns on your personal vision :) I'm looking forward to wearing it in the near future. Sorry for the dark pictures, it's raining outside today.

I decided to throw a second challenge in and make Johnny a bow tie!  He wore one to a wedding recently and it really inspired me to make him more.  It turned out so good I may just start making them to sell in the shop :)

Tomorrow my goal..find "boyish" fabric. Johnny says all my fabric is girly, he's pretty much right :) So be looking for these soon!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Suprise..Halloween Style

My friend Monica posted a picture on facebook of the most delicious looking cookie, it was a chocolate chip cookie with a little oreo suprise in the middle.  I couldn'r resist looking it up to see where it came from and how easy they might be.  I found the original recipe here and I made it easier and festive!  No baking skilles needed, just a desire to eat a scruptios little treat! Follow these easy steps to yumminess..
You will need:
1 large tube of pre made chocolate cookie dough
1 package or Halloween Oreos
Preheat your oven to 350 and get started!

Step 1: Grab an Oreo and scoop a heaping Tbs of cookie dough on top and bottom of the cookie

Step 2: Squeeze between hands and seal edges around Oreo, place on greased baking sheet

Step 3: Bake for 10-13 minutes

Step 4: Take a big ol bite!!

They are best when warm but you can always throw one in the microwave for 8-10 seconds to make it soft again!  I hope you try these because they are totally yummy!
Happy Baking!

Our Celebration of 1 year

Our 1st anniversary was sorta perfect.  We reminisced all day about our wedding day and the different emotions we were going through. Had sushi for lunch, drove to the Audubon State Park and enjoyed the pretty weather, relaxed and watched some football, went to fresh market and got food for dinner and finished up the day with a cozy palette and The Notebook (which I never want to watch again because it is so flipping sad at the end).  In my opinion the best type of gifts are good experiences and even better memories.  They last forever :)  So Johnny's gift to me was to agree to do an anniversary photo shoot.  This is a HUGE deal for him because he literally hates being in pictures.  My sister Tara shot these for us at Audubon State Park in Henderson, KY and she did an amazing job.  I think it's a great idea to capture us how we are at this moment in time because in 30 years I want to remember this day and be able to look back at what we looked like.  So we started an album starting with our engagement pictures, followed by wedding pictures and we will add our new pictures each year.  I mean people get yearly pictures of their kids right? I think every couple should do this!

Thanks for the great gift Johnny :)
O yeah and we had our cake top!! Turned out to be really good! It's kinda weird it's been sitting in a freezer for a year.

Happy Anniversary to Us!

1 year :)

Today Johnny and I have been married for 1 year.  Doesn't really seem possible that a year has already come and gone. We have had a pretty eventful first year..Johnny got laid off, I got a new job, thought we were moving across the country..didn't, so I was jobless for a bit but than I got a different new job, Johnny started Grad school, we moved to Indiana and now we are getting settled in! There is no one in the world I'd rather be with through ups and downs and luckily he thinks the same.  If today is your anniversary too, you sure did pick a good day :) Here are some pictures from our big day..

I could look at these pictures all day :) Our day was beautiful and an absolute blast! We were so lucky to have so many wonderful friends and family there with us to celebrate our love! I gotta go so we can celebrate today :))
Happy Anniversary My Love!!
